KN Holdings has initiated the KN Srepok 3 floating solar power plant, a significant renewable energy project in Dak Lak province. Implemented by Srepok 3 Solar Power Joint Stock Company, a member of KN Holdings, and its partners, the project spans approximately 360 hectares. This includes 354 hectares of water surface on the Srepok 3 hydroelectric reservoir and nearly 6 hectares of land in Ea Nuol and Ea Wer communes. With a total investment of 7,661 billion VND, the plant has a designed capacity of 304 MW, integrating an energy storage system, a 500 kV substation, and synchronous transmission infrastructure. The project aims to commence operations in QIV/2027.

This project aligns with Vietnam's national energy strategy, supporting Power Development Plan VIII and the country's net-zero emissions target by 2050. Large-scale renewable energy projects like KN Srepok 3 play a crucial role in ensuring energy security and promoting a green transition across the nation.
Tran Quoc Thanh, Deputy General Director of KN Holdings, highlighted the project's multi-faceted benefits. He stated that the KN Srepok 3 floating solar power plant is being developed to supplement clean electricity for the national power system. It also aims to efficiently utilize the hydroelectric reservoir's water surface, optimize resource use, and contribute to the sustainable development of the Central Highlands region. Thanh added that the project represents the next step in the group's strategy to expand its green energy investment portfolio.

Beyond national energy contributions, the KN Srepok 3 project is poised to significantly benefit the local economy. Once operational, it is expected to contribute approximately 200 billion VND annually to the local budget and create hundreds of jobs during the construction and operation phases. The company anticipates enhancing the efficiency of water resource exploitation, boosting economic development, and attracting more quality investment capital into Dak Lak.
Local authorities in Dak Lak have expressed strong support for the project, emphasizing a favorable investment climate. Speaking at the launch ceremony on 25/6, Nguyen Thien Van, Provincial Party Committee Member and Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, praised the proactive efforts of KN Holdings and Srepok 3 Solar Power Joint Stock Company in preparing the project. He stated that with the view, "the success of businesses is also the success of the province", Dak Lak is committed to maintaining an open, safe, stable, and favorable investment environment for businesses to develop sustainable production and operations in the area.

Both provincial and commune leaders share optimism for the project's timely implementation and its broader positive impact. Local leaders expect the project to be implemented on schedule, becoming a highlight in the province's clean energy development and green growth program. Meanwhile, representatives of the Ea Nuol commune government also hope the project will help effectively harness the local renewable energy potential, create more jobs, increase budget revenue, and promote socio-economic development in the area.
