Kuehne+Nagel has signed a lease agreement with airport operator Fraport for a new 7,600 square meter facility within CargoCity South. Upon completion, the company's total footprint in this area will exceed 20,000 square meters. Fraport will construct the new warehouse and retain ownership of the asset in its real estate portfolio. The project is expected to be completed and handed over by the end of 2028.
According to Kuehne+Nagel, this facility represents a strategic investment in its global air logistics network, aiming to strengthen connectivity across key international trade lanes. The structure is designed to optimize the flow of goods between the terminal and aircraft parking positions, reducing aircraft turnaround times and supporting seamless integration within the company's operational system.

The new facility has achieved German DGNB Gold certification for sustainable construction. It incorporates LED lighting systems, heat pumps, electric vehicle charging stations, smart meters, and a rooftop solar power system to supply renewable energy to the airport grid.
Martin Schaefer, senior vice president for air logistics in Germany at Kuehne+Nagel, stated, "Frankfurt is a crucial global gateway within our network. The new facility will provide the necessary infrastructure, capacity, and connectivity to meet increasingly dynamic supply chain demands and support growth in rapidly developing industries."
This project also aligns with Fraport's air cargo market development strategy. Under its CargoHub master plan, Fraport focuses on three pillars: optimizing existing space, developing new areas, and advancing digitalization and process innovation to solidify Frankfurt's position as a cargo hub in the coming years.
Kuehne+Nagel is a global logistics group headquartered in Switzerland, providing air, sea, road transport, and contract logistics services in over 100 countries.
