Mt Fuji GX Holdings selects Vietnam as technology R&D center

Japanese group Mt Fuji GX Holdings signed a memorandum of understanding with Mt Fuji GX company, designating Vietnam as its R&D center for four strategic technology fields on 20/3.

The four specific fields include: regenerative medicine technology; "PFAS Zero" technology, aimed at completely eliminating forever chemicals – PFAS – from drinking water; subcritical water environmental technology, which focuses on treating and regenerating water resources in an eco-friendly manner; and high-frequency power transmission technology, enabling wireless electricity transfer.

According to Mt. Fuji GX Holdings' development strategy, Vietnam is identified as the group's technology R&D hub in the ASEAN region. It will also serve as a base for gradually commercializing products for the global market.

The signing ceremony marks a significant step in science and technology cooperation. It opens opportunities to bring advanced Japanese technologies for research, development, and application in Vietnam, targeting both regional and global markets.

A representative from Mt Fuji GX Future Technology Joint Stock Company stated at the signing ceremony that the partnership with Mt. Fuji GX Holdings is built on trust, a shared strategic vision, and a commitment to sustainable development. Both parties have agreed to develop a long-term strategy to advance technologies in Vietnam, while connecting with international research networks and technology markets.

The parties expect this cooperation model to become a new paradigm in Vietnam-Japan business relations, where knowledge, technology, and resources are shared to create sustainable value for society. Establishing R&D centers and implementing high-tech projects will enhance research capabilities in key areas such as regenerative medicine, environmental technology, and new energy. This will also promote technology transfer from Japan to Vietnam, aligning with Resolution 57 on the development of science, technology, and innovation, and contributing to Vietnam's goal of becoming a regional and global center for research, innovation, and technology development.

Mt. Fuji GX Holdings is a group specializing in regenerative medicine, stem cells, and immune cells, known for its cooperation and technology transfer activities in Vietnam.

The event featured a science and technology seminar with international experts. A highlight was the online presentation by Takahiro Ochiya, who has over 30 years of in-depth research and nearly 70,000 scientific citations (according to Scholar GPS) in the fields of biology and regenerative medicine. His presentation focused on: "overview of regenerative medicine and stem cell technology in Japan: from laboratory to clinical application."

The presentation outlined a comprehensive picture of regenerative medicine's development in Japan. It highlighted the potential of biotechnology and cell technology in treating diseases, regenerating tissues, and improving healthcare quality. These advancements not only open new approaches for modern medicine but also lay a foundation for cooperative research and technology application between Japanese and Vietnamese scientific organizations.

On the sidelines of the event, numerous memoranda of understanding and commercial contracts were also signed between Mt. Fuji GX Holdings and its partners. These agreements aim to promote the development, transfer, and application of the group's technology in Vietnam and the ASEAN region.

The event is expected to foster business exchange between Vietnam and Japan, while strengthening science and technology cooperation and implementing innovation projects in the near future.
