NCB increases charter capital to VND 29,280 billion

National Commercial Joint Stock Bank (NCB) has completed a private placement of one billion shares, raising its charter capital to nearly VND 29,280 billion, the highest level in the bank's operating history.

The State Securities Commission approved NCB's private offering of one billion shares at VND 10,000 per share to 22 professional investors. The total capital raised reached VND 10,000 billion, increasing the bank's charter capital from nearly VND 19,280 billion to nearly VND 29,280 billion.

This marks NCB's fourth consecutive capital increase between 2021 and 2026, and the largest since the bank's establishment. Compared to 2021, NCB's charter capital has increased more than sevenfold. Completing this capital increase three years ahead of its approved restructuring roadmap strengthens the bank's financial capacity. This enables it to meet capital adequacy requirements set by the State Bank of Vietnam and provides room for growth in the next phase.

According to the bank, all mobilized capital will be allocated to credit activities, supporting the business production and consumption needs of corporate and individual customers during the 2026-2027 period.

Strengthening the Executive Team

Alongside the capital increase, NCB continues to strengthen its senior leadership by appointing two deputy general directors: Dao Mai Huong and Nguyen Thi Thuy.

Dao Mai Huong holds a Master's degree in Finance and Banking from the French-Vietnamese Center for Management Training (CFVG), National Economics University. She has over 21 years of experience in finance and banking, having held significant positions at major credit institutions and enterprises, including: Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank, MB Shinsei Finance Company Limited, and Post and Telecommunication Finance Company Limited (PTF). Before her appointment, she served as NCB's Head of Credit Management.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Thi Thuy currently serves as NCB's Head of Financial Management. She holds a Master's degree in Banking and Finance Economics from Paris Dauphine University, France, and is a certified accounting and auditing professional by ACCA and CPA Australia. With over 22 years of experience in banking and finance, Thuy has held senior leadership roles at credit and financial institutions such as Holborn Capital Partners, Deutsche Bank Vietnam, Hong Leong Bank Vietnam, OCB, HSBC Vietnam, and Ernst & Young Vietnam.

Growing Business Indicators

By the end of Quarter I, the bank reported many business indicators achieving 90% of the annual plan. Total assets reached nearly VND 173,504 billion, a 6% increase from the end of 2025. NCB's total customer loans exceeded VND 116,876 billion, growing by 20% compared to 31/12/2025. Total capital mobilization at the end of Quarter I/2026 (including customer deposits and issued valuable papers) also recorded growth of about 6% compared to the end of 2025, reaching nearly VND 139,110 billion.

The bank's pre-tax profit reached over VND 216 billion, a 43% increase compared to Quarter I/2025. According to its plan, NCB is committed to using all profits to follow the PACCL roadmap, aiming for early completion of PACCL and sustainable development.

Recently, NCB has continued expanding its digital financial products and services. The bank recently partnered with Sun Group to launch the NCB Visa Sun Signature co-branded credit card. This product integrates benefits within the partner's ecosystem, covering: tourism, resorts, entertainment, real estate, aviation, and healthcare, to provide customers with premium experiences.

Additionally, NCB participates in financing and arranging capital for national strategic infrastructure projects. It has also implemented a supply chain finance program for over 180 businesses, with credit facilities worth thousands of billions of VND, providing capital for approximately 70 large-scale projects nationwide. Concurrently, the bank is rolling out digital transformation solutions and supporting tourism development, helping attract international visitors to Vietnam.

According to a bank representative, the increase in charter capital and the strengthening of the executive apparatus will lay the groundwork for NCB to implement its growth strategy in the upcoming period.
