Yadea launches policy to swap gasoline bikes for electric

Yadea Vietnam is implementing a green conversion incentive policy in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, offering to buy back old gasoline motorcycles and provide a 10% discount voucher on new electric motorcycles, along with 0% installment support.

The support program, implemented by Yadea Vietnam from 6/6 to 31/7, targets customers purchasing the company's vehicles, including those looking to sell their gasoline motorcycles and buy electric ones. The Orla-P model qualifies for the highest incentive, a 10% discount equivalent to 2.16 million VND. A 5% vehicle price discount, ranging from 1.15 million to 1.95 million VND, is available for nine Yadea models: Osta, Velax, Voltguard, and Oris.

To participate, users need to bring their old gasoline motorcycle to a Yadea store for inspection and valuation, a process that typically takes 10-15 minutes. After completing the procedures, users can choose a new Yadea electric motorcycle, receive a green conversion incentive voucher, 0% installment support, and free maintenance as per the company's policy. Yadea states that this policy also applies to users who do not trade in an old vehicle and is being rolled out on the Yadea Vietnam TikTok shop, aiming to make electric motorcycles accessible at preferential prices to a wider user base.

Liu Jia, General Director of Yadea Vietnam, stated that the electrification of transportation is happening daily, and the company hopes to accelerate this process through incentive policies and user support. He said, "With the 'Swap Gasoline Bike for Electric Bike' program, Yadea aims to create momentum for green mobility in Vietnam. Each conversion today will contribute to a positive change for the living environment and urban landscape in the future."

In Hanoi, starting 1/7, the city is piloting low-emission zones on 11 streets within the Ho Guom pedestrian area and the Old Quarter night market to improve air quality. In this initial stage, the city aims to establish a model and organize initial low-emission zone activities, raise awareness and willingness of residents, organizations, and businesses to participate, and collect data to evaluate effectiveness. Vehicle restriction regulations are being applied through communication, advocacy, and encouraging conversion.

A national environmental status report from 2016-2020 revealed that Hanoi's PM2.5 levels were nearly double the national standard, and PM10 levels exceeded standards by 1.3 to 1.6 times. Transportation is identified as the largest emission source, accounting for 58-74% depending on the time, with motorcycles being the primary contributor.
