Yesterday afternoon, Market Management Team No. 4 in Gia Lai province, in collaboration with the police, inspected two pork vendors in An Nhon Nam ward.
At the first location, owned by a woman born in 1980, authorities found 6 freezers containing a large quantity of pork and lard. The woman admitted to collecting the meat from various markets and slaughterhouses in the area without proper invoices or documentation. She then sorted, stored, and resold the meat to processing facilities for profit. The business was operating without a license and selling goods of unknown origin.

The second inspection took place at Q.V. Food Trading Co., Ltd., represented by a man born in 1972. Here, authorities discovered over 1 ton of pork and lard stored in 7 freezers and a cold storage room. The company failed to produce a food safety certificate or documents verifying the origin of the goods.
In total, authorities confiscated over 4 tons of spoiled pork and lard from the two locations. The meat was deemed unfit for consumption and posed a risk to public health.
In addition to administrative penalties against the two businesses, the entire quantity of seized meat will be destroyed.
According to Le Hong Ha, Director of the Gia Lai Market Management Bureau, this is the first major case since the establishment of the province's 389 Steering Committee, which aims to strengthen control over smuggling and trade fraud. The province plans to intensify efforts to prevent the sale of low-quality and untraceable products.
