Over 640 million Ban Viet Bank shares debut on HoSE

BVB shares of Ban Viet Bank began trading on HoSE on 21/7 at a reference price of 13,100 dong, with over 11,8 million shares matched in the first session.

On 21/7, over 640 million BVB shares of Ban Viet Bank (BVBank) officially listed and began trading on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE).

On its debut day, BVB shares had a reference price of 13,100 dong, with a 20% trading band. This corresponded to a market capitalization of nearly 8,400 billion dong.

In the initial 15 minutes of the session, BVB rose to 13,900 dong per share, an increase of 6% above the reference price, but later pared its gains.

By the afternoon session, the stock traded around 13,300 dong, up over 1,5%. By 14h, more than 11,8 million shares had been matched, significantly higher than its liquidity when trading on UPCoM.

According to BVBank, the transfer of its listing to HoSE will help the bank expand investor access, facilitate capital mobilization, and increase shareholder value for its shareholders.

Bank leaders stated that in the coming period, they will continue to pursue a retail-oriented strategy, focusing on four pillars: comprehensive digitalization, core portfolio concentration, strengthening financial capacity, and enhancing market position. The bank also aims to develop a digital ecosystem and maintain a selective growth strategy.

BVBank stated that its listing on HoSE marks a new development phase for the bank. Previously, the State Bank of Vietnam approved BVBank's capital increase by a maximum of 3,500 billion dong, raising its charter capital to nearly 10,000 billion dong.

The bank reported positive business results for the first six months, with pre-tax profit for the half-year expected to reach 500 billion dong. This figure is four times higher than the same period last year and completes approximately 70% of its annual plan.

Thus, BVBank is the 23rd bank to list on HoSE. This year, shares of three other banks – VietBank, KienlongBank, and VietABank – also moved from UPCoM to trade on HoSE.
