Prudential and VIB boost partnership in insurance sector

Prudential and VIB are strengthening their bancassurance partnership model, aiming to enhance the quality of advice, transparency, and customer experience.

This event marks a new phase in the over a decade-long relationship between the two financial institutions. It also reaffirms their commitment to building a bancassurance model centered on quality advice, transparency, and customer experience. In this new phase of cooperation, Prudential and VIB are focusing on personalized solutions tailored to each customer's journey.

Both parties are also standardizing advisory processes, strengthening quality control capabilities, and improving the suitability of financial solutions for specific customer segments. They are accelerating the application of technology and enhancing digital platforms to support their advisory teams, making the consultation process more transparent, clear, and convenient for customers.

Through an integrated bank-insurance ecosystem, customers can access financial solutions suitable for various life stages, from health protection and financial accumulation to long-term investment. The product portfolio currently distributed via VIB includes Pru - Bao ve toi da, Pru - Dau tu vung tien, and other supplementary protection solutions.

These solutions share common traits of high flexibility and personalization, allowing customers to choose between focusing on risk protection or long-term financial accumulation. Users can also combine protection and asset growth, adapting to different life stages and each customer's financial capacity. The benefit scope is designed in multiple layers, covering protection against risks such as death, disability, and critical illness, as well as health care, with the ability to customize and add extended benefits according to the actual needs of customers and their families.

Notably, with VIB's introduction of VIB Privilege Banking services, the bank's priority customers gain additional access to financial protection, accumulation, and long-term asset planning solutions through its partner ecosystem, which includes Prudential.

Ms. Tuong Nguyen, Deputy General Director and Head of Retail Banking at VIB, stated that the bank aims to provide comprehensive, transparent, and convenient financial experiences for customers. Within VIB's retail banking development strategy, bancassurance is part of the journey to help customers proactively protect their finances, manage assets, and plan for a long-term future that better suits their needs at each life stage. "Continuing to upgrade our partnership with Prudential helps enhance service quality, allowing customers to access financial protection solutions that meet international standards through a professional, consistent, and customer-centric advisory experience," Ms. Tuong Nguyen said.

Prudential and VIB began their bancassurance cooperation in 2015. In 2023, the two parties extended their agreement until 2036, demonstrating their commitment to sustainable, long-term bancassurance development focused on customer experience quality.

The distinctiveness of the Prudential and VIB partnership model lies not only in its scale but also in its sustainable, customer-centric development approach. Both parties are among the first to incorporate the "contract persistency rate" criterion into their cooperation agreement. This indicator reflects customer satisfaction and the real value customers receive, rather than focusing solely on sales growth. This approach is increasingly important as the bancassurance market enters a phase that emphasizes suitability, transparency, and the quality of advice. Concurrently, a "Customer Conduct Standards Management Committee" has been established to oversee advisory quality, ensuring that distributed financial solutions align with the actual needs of each customer segment.

To date, the collaboration between Prudential and VIB has contributed to protecting nearly 400,000 customers nationwide. This also serves as a foundation for both parties to further upgrade their cooperation model in the new phase, aiming for a more transparent, professional, and sustainable bancassurance experience.

Mr. Matthew Min, Deputy General Director of Partnership Distribution Channels at Prudential Vietnam, stated that the cooperation with VIB remains a key pillar in the company's 2026 development strategy. According to him, the combination of Prudential's expertise in insurance and VIB's financial ecosystem will help customers access more suitable solutions, from protection and asset accumulation to long-term financial planning.

In the next phase, Prudential and VIB will continue to develop their bancassurance model based on the quality of advice, while enhancing their understanding of customers' long-term financial needs. Both parties will also standardize advisory processes, strengthen service quality oversight, and develop more personalized financial solutions.

Prudential Vietnam is a member of Prudential plc, operating in life and health insurance and asset management across several markets in Asia and Africa. By the end of 2025, the company had a charter capital of 7,698 billion VND, serving millions of customers through a nationwide network of offices, customer experience centers, and 7 strategic bank partners. Prudential Vietnam pursues a mission to provide protection, accumulation, and long-term financial planning solutions for customers.

VIB was established in 1996. After nearly 30 years of operation, the bank currently serves over 7 million customers through more than 200 branches, transaction offices, and digital platforms. By the end of 2025, VIB's total assets reached over 556,000 billion VND. The bank is a leader in many retail segments such as credit cards, digital banking, home loans, auto loans, and bancassurance, and is oriented towards developing a customer-centric banking model.
