PVI insurance integrates international roadside assistance service

PVI insurance offers roadside assistance benefits, operated by Allianz Partners, with select motor vehicle physical damage insurance packages, supporting customers during vehicle use.

With the rising number of personal vehicles, car owners seek support services for on-road incidents. PVI insurance, in collaboration with Allianz Partners, has launched a roadside assistance (RSA) service. This service is included with specific vehicle types when customers purchase motor vehicle physical damage insurance, subject to applicable conditions. RSA expands support beyond traditional compensation, ensuring immediate assistance for users encountering issues on the road.

Integrating RSA benefits into motor vehicle physical damage insurance provides customers with immediate support at the time of an incident, rather than just post-damage compensation. Policyholders of PVI insurance's motor vehicle physical damage insurance for eligible vehicles will receive a complimentary RSA package, offering multiple support services for on-road vehicle issues.

PVI insurance offers 24/7 hotline support, available continuously on holidays, Tet (Lunar New Year), and at night. Customers can request assistance anytime during the benefit's valid period, with no usage limits. Upon receiving a request, the system identifies the vehicle's status and location to dispatch technicians to the scene.

If a vehicle fails to start due to a weak or dead battery, technicians will provide an on-site jump start. For tire issues like punctures or damage, customers receive assistance replacing the tire with a spare, minimizing downtime and allowing them to continue their journey promptly.

The service also includes free towing up to 50 km if the vehicle cannot be moved after on-site repairs. The vehicle will be towed to a repair garage or a customer-specified location within the benefit's terms. If keys are locked inside or forgotten in the vehicle, the system can help retrieve and deliver a spare key from a designated location to the vehicle's position, also within a 50 km radius.

If a spare key is unavailable, the hotline will arrange for a professional locksmith to attend the scene. Any costs beyond the benefit's scope will be disclosed beforehand. For vehicles that run out of fuel, the service delivers fuel to the vehicle's location; customers pay for the fuel itself, while transport costs are covered.

If a vehicle breaks down over 100 km from home and requires garage repairs, the owner may receive support for one of the following: car rental to continue their journey, arrangement of a taxi or public transport to return home, or assistance with hotel bookings and accommodation costs, subject to limits and conditions.

PVI insurance states that these benefits extend beyond vehicle support, covering customers' travel and accommodation needs during long journeys should their vehicle encounter an issue.

Vu Ngoc Hung, director of PVI's motor vehicle division, stated that the company aims to address "blind spots" in traditional car insurance perception in Vietnam. Customers often assume purchasing insurance is sufficient, only to find themselves without support for self-inflicted breakdowns or technical issues unrelated to collisions.

"The RSA privilege is not a mere paper commitment; it is practical rescue", he affirmed. "We do not wait for major incidents; we ensure uninterrupted journeys for every kilometer our customers travel."

PVI insurance implements the RSA service in collaboration with Allianz Partners, a global leader in support and rescue. This partnership ensures a standardized process for receiving requests, assessing vehicle status, dispatching technicians, and organizing rescue operations. Participating service providers are selected based on their technical capabilities, equipment, and service quality.

The company states that this standardized process reduces handling time and minimizes the need for customers to contact multiple parties during an incident. Any costs beyond the free benefits are disclosed beforehand, empowering customers to choose appropriate solutions.

Nguyen Ngoc Duc, Vietnam market director for Allianz Partners, observed that in developed markets, high-quality roadside assistance is an essential lifestyle standard for sophisticated car owners. Through this initial strategic partnership with PVI, Allianz Partners aims to deliver this international rescue standard to Vietnamese customers.

"We aim to ensure that car owners in Vietnam enjoy seamless, premium privileges, fully comparable to those enjoyed by car owners in Singapore, Europe, and other advanced nations", he emphasized.

PVI insurance views the integration of RSA into motor vehicle physical damage insurance as a reflection of insurers' expanding service trend, moving beyond post-risk compensation to providing enhanced customer support throughout vehicle ownership.

For specific vehicle models, PVI insurance motor vehicle physical damage policyholders will receive a complimentary RSA roadside assistance package, subject to periodic program conditions. This service offers customers an additional support channel during emergencies, reducing travel disruptions and unexpected costs.
