Sun PhuQuoc Ground Services Company Limited (SGP) commenced operations after receiving License No. 72.SGP/GPKDV-CHK from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam for conducting aviation services at the airport. This event marks the Group's strategic expansion into ground services, adding a crucial link to its aviation ecosystem to enhance Phu Quoc's service capacity and connectivity.

SGP manages the entire chain of ground services, including passenger handling, operational control, baggage and cargo processing, and apron operations. These tasks occur within a short period between flights but directly affect operational safety, aircraft turnaround times, and the service quality of each airline.
Additionally, SGP operates the Sun Executive Lounge (SEL) system and provides premium passenger services, including a future VIP terminal at Phu Quoc International Airport. This is part of a strategy to create a seamless service journey, ensuring consistent service standards from ground to air, aligning with Sun Group's aviation ecosystem development.
According to a Sun Group representative, aviation is not merely a business sector but also a connecting infrastructure that drives the development of local tourism, trade, and economy. Accordingly, the Group is developing a synchronized aviation ecosystem, encompassing air transport, ground services, aircraft engineering, in-flight catering, logistics, and human resource training, all under a unified management platform, quality standards, and long-term development orientation. Sun PhuQuoc Ground Services is the newest piece in this strategy.

SGP was established as operational demand at Phu Quoc International Airport rapidly increases. The airport expects to serve approximately 9 million passengers this year and is preparing to bring Terminal two into operation with a capacity of about 24 million passengers annually, aiming for 50 million passengers in the near future. This necessitates synchronous investment in ground service capabilities to meet the growing operational scale and international service standards.

Concurrently, the company is standardizing its management system to meet the requirements for ISAGO (IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations) certification. It is also building operational capabilities and service scenarios to fulfill operational demands during Phu Quoc International Airport's new development phase.
According to Pham Phu Yen, Director of Sun PhuQuoc Ground Services Company Limited, SGP identifies people as the core element among its four strategic pillars: People, Processes, Equipment, and Technology, for building sustainable operational capacity. He stated that while technology and equipment can be invested in quickly, developing a team with a service mindset, operational discipline, and international standard capabilities requires a long-term strategy. "This has been the enterprise's priority since its inception," Yen said.

In addition to professional and foreign language training, SGP focuses on building a team to international aviation service standards. For the 2026-2027 period, the enterprise plans to consolidate about 800 personnel, capable of serving nearly 200 flights daily, while recruiting experienced specialists and management teams to enhance operational capabilities.
Sun Group states that bringing Sun PhuQuoc Ground Services into operation is the next step in completing the group's aviation ecosystem strategy. The enterprise expects to improve service capacity, strengthen connectivity, and contribute to realizing the goal of making Phu Quoc an international destination, while also laying the groundwork for ongoing airport projects and research in Phan Thiet, Rach Gia, Con Dao, Mang Den, and Van Phong.
