Vietnamese electric taxi company expands to europe

Green SM launched its all-electric taxi service in Copenhagen, Denmark, marking the brand's inaugural operation in the European market on 30/7.

Green SM announced its choice of Copenhagen to launch its European strategy, as the city leads in sustainable urban transport. The addition of an all-electric, environmentally friendly travel option will enhance Copenhagen's green transport ecosystem, serving local residents and tourists.

In Denmark, Green SM will operate an all-electric fleet featuring VinFast VF 6 and VF 8 models. The company will directly own and manage its vehicles and oversee driver operations. This approach ensures consistent service quality and a positive customer experience, unlike conventional platforms that only connect customers with drivers.

The company stated that its initial phase will focus on building a stable operational platform and perfecting its high-quality service by listening to feedback from users, drivers, and stakeholders. For instance, all Green SM drivers in Copenhagen have completed training on traffic safety, customer service, operational procedures, and electric vehicle usage.

Users in Copenhagen can book rides through the Green SM application. The application displays fares before trip confirmation, and invoices automatically send upon journey completion. The company is also offering 5 discount codes to each user for bookings made from now until 30/9.

Richard Nabil Chahine, general director of Green SM Europe, stated that Copenhagen's demanding urban transport market offers an opportunity for the company to prove its all-electric taxi service quality. "Green SM's objective is to deliver safe, professional, and convenient all-electric journeys, with the goal of becoming a part of the city's green transport ecosystem", he said.

Its expansion into Europe highlights Green SM's international market growth. On 22/7, VinFast exported its 38th batch of electric vehicles, about 1,500 VF 6 units. These vehicles were for partner GSM, supporting Green SM's European expansion plans.

Green SM is an all-electric taxi company established in Vietnam in 2023. It currently operates in markets including: Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, Philippines, India, and Kazakhstan.
