Vingroup withdraws North-South high-speed rail investment proposal

Billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong's group has requested to withdraw its proposal to undertake the North-South high-speed rail project.

On 25/12, Vingroup submitted a request to the Government to withdraw its registration to invest in the North-South high-speed rail project. The group stated its intention to focus resources on other key infrastructure and energy projects, including: the Olympic sports urban area and Trong Dong national stadium project, as well as the Ben Thanh - Can Gio and Ha Noi - Quang Ninh high-speed rail lines.

"This is a proactive and responsible step by Vingroup to ensure the best implementation of assigned projects," Vingroup stated, adding that this move "contributes to the development of modern, sustainable transportation infrastructure, renewable energy, and urban areas, enhancing national competitiveness."
