VPBank prioritizes corporate culture alongside business operations

VPBank prioritizes corporate culture development with a new business year kickoff, engaging nearly 6,000 employees in team-building experiences.

On 21/3, Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank, HoSE: VPB) organized the "2026 All-Bank Business Kick Off" program. The event saw 4,000 employees participate in a parade of 35 departmental groups. Each group showcased its unique color, slogan, and spirit, all united towards a common goal. This activity aimed to convey a message of organizational synergy: "when individuals step together, the entire organization moves forward." Concurrently, in the Southern region, over 2,000 employees engaged in a series of challenges to demonstrate endurance and teamwork.

Beyond igniting passion and launching the new business season, the event also served as an opportunity for VPBank to reflect on its development journey. By the end of 2025, the bank had risen to a leading position among private banks in total assets and was one of the fastest-growing brands in value across the entire system.

A bank representative shared that over three decades of development, each growth milestone has been linked to generations of well-trained employees who are proactive and ready to commit to the bank's long-term vision.

The representative added, "This is not coincidental, but the result of a consistent philosophy: people are strategic assets. Each employee is not only given the tools to achieve business goals but also empowered to develop themselves, unlock their potential, and contribute to the collective mission."

This is also why the bank chose the parade format, which combines formal presentation with promoting the creativity and performance individuality of each person and team. A VPBank representative noted that this activity can "lighten" the mental burden of business targets and pressures, instead fostering a graceful, professional image for each employee.

In TP HCM, team spirit was expressed through a different "language": team challenges. This activity required coordination, sharing, and mutual trust among colleagues, helping members better understand and connect.

A VPBank representative stated, "The sight of parade groups moving in sync, or how teams coordinated during challenges, demonstrates the role of discipline and efficiency within the organization."

In 2026, leveraging its existing ecosystem, which includes: banking, consumer finance, securities, and insurance, and with strategic partner SMBC, VPBank plans to expand into new business areas such as life insurance and fund management. This direction reflects growth ambitions and sets higher demands on organizational capacity and human resources.

To operate its expanded and distinct financial ecosystem, VPBank requires adept personnel—individuals with multidisciplinary thinking who are flexible, creative, and ready to transition between business segments, all working towards a common goal. In this context, internal cultural activities support this transformation, fostering consensus and maintaining motivation across the entire system.

Phung Duy Khuong, Permanent Deputy General Director for the Southern Region, who also serves as Director of Retail Banking and Head of Debt Recovery and Resolution, stated, "For 2026, VPBank aims for a 35% profit increase, targeting nearly 41,000 billion VND. Today, employees across the system are launching efforts to achieve this goal, prepared for sustained acceleration, overall leadership, and expanded growth."
