XPO Logistics, a leading global provider of end-to-end logistics solutions, has announced an extension of its partnership with the Tour de France through 2030. The announcement comes as XPO Logistics prepares for the 112th edition of the race, set to begin on 5/7.
As the official transport partner of the Tour de France since 1980, XPO Logistics will continue to oversee the installation of key infrastructure for the 21 stages of the race. This includes start villages, podiums, arches, barriers, and other support equipment.
XPO Logistics is also the official transport partner of the Tour de France Femmes, the women's version of the race, which launched in 2022. The 2025 edition will take place in July and August.
"We are thrilled to extend our partnership with the Tour de France to 2030, bringing our collaboration close to the 50-year mark," said Luis Gomez, president, Europe, XPO Logistics. "This long-term commitment reflects our shared dedication to operational excellence, innovation, and sustainable development."

Preparations for the Tour de France typically begin in October of each year, according to XPO Logistics. The company's operations team sets up start and finish villages in 4 to 5 hours, intermediate sprint points in about 3 hours, and dismantles everything in just a few hours to move on to the next stage.
Bruno Kloeckner, managing director, France, XPO Logistics, stated that the Tour de France is not just a logistical challenge but also a source of pride for the entire XPO team. "For over 45 years, we and the organizers have shared a commitment to quality, innovation, and responsibility. This partnership clearly demonstrates our ability to support major events in a sustainable way," he said.
In 2025, XPO Logistics will continue to implement its Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) biofuel solution as part of its commitment to sustainable transport. This fuel can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 90%, contributing to a reduction of over 223 tons of CO2 last year alone. Additionally, XPO's entire fleet now meets Euro 6 standards, reducing harmful NOx (nitrogen oxide) emissions by up to 70%.
This initiative will be implemented in both the Tour de France and the Tour de France Femmes as part of a joint effort by XPO Logistics and organizer Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) to make the race "increasingly environmentally responsible."
"The Tour de France is a living laboratory for the environmental transition of major sporting events. With partners like XPO Logistics, we are progressively reducing the race's carbon footprint. The full implementation of HVO fuel across the entire logistics fleet is concrete proof of our commitment to a sustainable future," emphasized Thomas Cariou, head of sustainable development at ASO.
The Tour de France is the most prestigious road cycling race in the world, held annually since 1903. With 21 stages covering almost 3,500 km across France and neighboring countries, the race attracts millions of spectators worldwide and is a sporting highlight of the European summer.
