The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training announced the 10th-grade enrollment quotas for 181 public schools on the evening of 29/4.
Ho Chi Minh City offers 118,550 public 10th-grade slots, ensuring approximately 70% of middle school graduates secure a place. Marie Curie, Hung Vuong, Nguyen Van Tang, Tran Quang Khai, and Tay Thanh high schools are among those admitting the largest cohorts, each welcoming 1,000 or more students.
While most schools either increased or maintained their enrollment figures from last year, 4 institutions saw a decrease in quotas: Phu My High School (Ba Ria - Vung Tau province), Nguyen An Ninh High School (Binh Duong province), Trung hoc Thuc hanh Su pham, and Pho thong Nang khieu The thao Olympic (both in Ho Chi Minh City).
Phuoc Kien and Thai Hoa high schools recorded the most significant changes, with increases of 375 and 365 slots, respectively. Three other schools—Nguyen Van Tang, Vo Truong Toan, and Ho Thi Bi—each saw their enrollment rise by over 300 students.

Ho Chi Minh City anticipates over 169,000 middle school graduates this year, a rise of nearly 43,000 from last year. The 10th-grade entrance examination is set for 1-2/6, comprising tests in mathematics, literature, and a foreign language, predominantly English.
Students aiming for specialized high schools will sit for corresponding subject exams. However, in Thanh An island commune, part of the Con Dao special administrative zone, 10th-grade admissions are based solely on academic transcripts.
