The Ministry of Education and Training announced at midday on 11/6 that about 5,300 candidates did not attend their exam centers to take the literature exam for the high school graduation exam.
Among those who took the exam, eight candidates violated regulations and were suspended. This number is two fewer than last year. If they are 12th-grade students, they will not be eligible for high school graduation recognition. For independent candidates, this means they cannot use this year's scores for university or college admissions.
Unauthorized materials and mobile phones are prohibited items in all current exams. Meanwhile, exam questions are classified as "Top Secret" state secrets. The period of state secret protection for essay questions is after two-thirds of the exam time, and for multiple-choice questions, it is upon the conclusion of the exam session. If revealed, candidates could face criminal prosecution.
During yesterday's pre-exam procedures, invigilators reminded candidates about this. All exam boards arranged storage rooms and reminded candidates before each exam session.
