ILA standardizes English learning pathway with global GSE scale

On 28/3, ILA launched its ILA Smart Learning system and an English program certified by Pearson's global scale of English (GSE), helping students measure their progress.

ILA Smart Learning is an exclusive digital learning management system developed by ILA. It seamlessly connects classroom learning, home practice, and progress tracking on one platform. Learners can access lessons, materials, and interactive activities anytime, anywhere. The system offers a data repository of over 1,400 integrated lessons, 10,000 digital questions, and 1,100 vocabulary activities, allowing students to reinforce knowledge after each session. Parents can closely monitor their children's learning through teacher evaluations, test scores, and homework results, all updated in real-time on the application.

This project is the result of over three years of research by ILA's academic team and 18 months of collaboration with Pearson. This extensive effort ensured the program meets international standards.

"Our goal is to build a complete learning journey where learning does not stop when students leave the classroom", said Jonathan Bird, Training Director of ILA Vietnam.

According to Bird, a key feature of the program is the application of the international GSE English proficiency scale, which ranges from 10 to 90. This scale precisely indicates a learner's ability across all four skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. It clarifies the learning pathway, making progress measurable in small increments.

GSE's credibility is confirmed by major educational organizations, including: the British Council, the European Council, EAQUALS, NEAS (Australia), and ACCET (US). In Vietnam, ILA is one of the first institutions to announce a curriculum built using this scale.

This international learning pathway has helped many ILA students achieve outstanding results and confidently integrate. Success stories, such as Nguyen Khanh Han, a student at ILA Phan Van Tri, and Long Phuc Binh Minh from TP HCM, were highlights at the event. Both students started their journey by winning first prize in the ILA Speak Up competition, a turning point that opened up greater learning opportunities.

For Khanh Han, the award was a "golden ticket" to study in an international environment. "Here, I not only learn vocabulary or grammar, but also find my own voice", she shared.

Meanwhile, Binh Minh leveraged her English foundation from ILA for a journey that included summer study abroad in Australia and receiving a high school scholarship in Finland. According to the student, the English foundation gained through ILA was key to writing her application, excelling in interviews, and connecting with international friends.

At the event, ILA also honored many students who achieved perfect scores of 15/15 shields in Cambridge Young Learners exams (Starters, Movers, Flyers) and high results in KET and PET levels. These results demonstrate the effectiveness of the learning pathway and the support from the Smart Learning platform.

"With over 30 years of experience supporting over one million students, the launch of the digital platform and program standardization with GSE reaffirms ILA's educational philosophy: every student deserves a clear pathway to confidently step out into the world", a representative emphasized.
