Lieutenant Colonel Trieu Thanh Dat, a senior specialist from the Training Department, Ministry of Public Security, announced this information at the admissions and career guidance fair on the morning of 8/3 in Hanoi.
The projected admission schedule for public security universities in 2026 is as follows:
| Activity | Projected timeline |
| Candidates register for preliminary selection at communal police stations. | 15/3-15/4 |
| Candidates and preliminary selection units complete application documents (political criteria, health, academic performance, conduct...), and receive conclusions on eligibility for preliminary selection. | After 15/4 |
| Local police complete preliminary selection and submit candidate dossiers to public security universities. | Before 20/5 |
| Candidates participate in the Ministry of Public Security's assessment exam | 20-21/6 (one week after the national high school graduation exam) |
Dat also stated that the admission methods for public security universities remain similar to last year. These include: direct admission for students with national and international awards; consideration of Ministry of Public Security assessment exam scores combined with international foreign language certificates; and consideration of assessment exam scores alongside national high school graduation exam scores.
The Ministry of Public Security's assessment exam retains the same structure as last year. The exam duration is 180 minutes, with four exam codes, and candidates choose one of the four codes:
| Exam code | Mandatory essay section | Multiple-choice section | |
| Mandatory multiple-choice | Optional multiple-choice | ||
| CA1 | Literature | Mathematics, History, English Language | Physics |
| CA2 | Literature | Mathematics, History, English Language | Chemistry |
| CA3 | Literature | Mathematics, History, English Language | Biology |
| CA4 | Literature | Mathematics, History, English Language | Geography |
For the admission method combining assessment exam scores with high school graduation exam scores, last year's benchmark scores ranged from 15,95 to 26,28 out of 30. The formula for calculating admission scores for public security universities is as follows:
Admission score = (Total score of three high school graduation exam subjects * 2/5) + (Assessment exam score * 3/5) + Priority points as regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training + Bonus points.
