Over 600 TP HCM candidates miss opportunity for public 10th-grade admission

Six hundred three candidates were absent from the 10th-grade literature exam, facing automatic disqualification and losing their chance for public school admission.

The Department of Education and Training announced this information at noon on 1/6. Absent students may have encountered issues or simply chose not to take the exam. They will receive a 0 score for the literature subject.

According to regulations, candidates must score 0,25 or higher on each subject's exam to be considered for admission. Therefore, even if they take subsequent exams, these candidates will not be admitted to public 10th-grade classes.

This morning, nearly 151,000 candidates completed the literature exam in 120 minutes. At Vo Truong Toan Secondary School in Saigon Ward, many students left the exam rooms feeling positive, noting the test was easier than in previous years.

Many teachers commented that the difficulty of the 10th-grade literature exam had decreased by two to three levels compared to previous years, making it easier for candidates to achieve good or excellent scores due to thorough preparation.

This afternoon, candidates will take the foreign language exam (primarily English) for 90 minutes. On 2/6, they will sit for the mathematics exam, which lasts 120 minutes. Those aspiring to specialized classes will take an additional corresponding subject exam, lasting 150 minutes.
