On 13/4, Van Tuong Commune Police reported a seventh-grade female student was assaulted by two ninth-grade male students at the gate of Binh Thuan Secondary School. The incident occurred three days prior, on 11/4.
Initial reports indicate that at approximately 11h15 on 11/4, two male students from class 9C blocked the path of a female student from class 7A. They repeatedly struck her head and face with their hands and feet. A video circulating on social media captured the victim unable to defend herself, as a man's attempt to intervene proved unsuccessful. Numerous students reportedly watched the incident unfold.
The female student suffered full-body pain, bruised eyes, and swollen lips. She experienced panic and vomiting, requiring hospitalization for treatment.
Authorities determined the incident stemmed from an altercation between the victim and the younger sister of one of the male students. After hearing his sister's account of being pushed and challenged, the male student enlisted a friend to ambush and assault the victim.
A representative from Binh Thuan Secondary School confirmed they visited the assaulted student to offer support. The school is coordinating with police to verify the incident and implement disciplinary measures against the students involved. According to Circular 19 from the Ministry of Education and Training, the most severe school disciplinary action for students who assault peers is a written self-criticism report, accompanied by a family commitment.
