The University of Finance - Accounting (UFA) is set to merge with the University of Finance - Marketing (UFM), becoming its Quang Ngai branch campus. This decision, signed by Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long on 24/12, mandates that UFM and UFA collaborate to finalize the necessary documentation for the new campus.
The merger aims to establish a hub for high-quality human resource training in economics, finance, and marketing within the Central Highlands region. According to UFM's proposal, this new branch campus will meet the growing educational demands of students in the area.
Both UFM and UFA operate as public universities under the Ministry of Finance. The University of Finance - Marketing (UFM), established in 1976 from the Central Price Cadre School, currently serves over 20,000 students and learners. It has approximately 700 staff and lecturers. UFM's main campus is located in Duc Nhuan ward, Ho Chi Minh City, with 5 additional facilities spread across the city.
The University of Finance - Accounting (UFA), founded in 2011 through the upgrade of the Finance - Accounting College, maintains its main campus in Quang Ngai and a branch campus in Hue. UFA supports nearly 1,500 learners with a team of around 170 lecturers.
