VnExpress youth basketball tournament announces Mr. and Miss Basketball winners

After two weeks of voting, Nguyen Ngoc Thao Anh (Hoang Hoa Tham High School) and Tran Xuan Bach (Le Quy Don High School) received the Mr. and Miss Basketball awards for the VnExpress Youth Basketball Tournament 2026 - Ziaja Cup.

Tran Xuan Bach, representing Le Quy Don High School, secured the Mr. Basketball award with 7,095 points. Nguyen Ngoc Thao Anh, from Hoang Hoa Tham High School, claimed the Miss Basketball title with 3,752 votes.

These awards were part of "The Face of VYB 2026", one of two side events during the tournament. The other was the "Team Mode On Challenge", which rewarded the team creating the most striking transformation video on Media Day. High school students in Ho Chi Minh City could register as teams or individuals for these activities.

The transformation video challenge saw the Gia Dinh team win the male category with 888 points. In the female category, the Nguyen Thuong Hien team led with 1,281 points.

The organizers stated the competition aimed to boost team connection and provide an interactive platform for students during the tournament. Teams created videos, transforming from school uniforms to competition uniforms at a brand's booth.

The competition garnered 7,000 votes, allocating 27,686 points across 16 male students, eight female students, and 24 transformation videos. The voting portal drew 2 million views, while fanpage posts achieved 100,000 interactions.

Scores were derived from three sources: website votes, fanpage comments, and interactions. Each website vote contributed 4 points, each fanpage comment 2 points, and each interaction one point.

According to the rules, the Mr. and Miss Basketball winners each received prizes worth 3 million VND, along with gifts from the brand. The two winning teams of the transformation video challenge each received prizes worth 5 million VND.

VnExpress Newspaper and FPT Online Services Joint Stock Company (FPT Online) organized the tournament. The Vietnam Basketball Federation provided professional supervision. This event is also part of the national project "Developing School Basketball until 2030".
