The song "Giai dieu tu hao" (composed by Pham Hong Bien) opened the art program of the parade celebrating the 80th National Day at Ba Dinh Square on the morning of 2/9. Appearing alongside singer My Tam, 7-year-old Thuy Tien sang the lyrics: "The Vietnamese army marches, united to save the country. Their footsteps echo on the long and arduous road." These two lines, extracted from the work "Tien quan ca" (composed by Van Cao) by Pham Hong Bien, speak of the "proud melody" everyone hears from childhood.
Both My Tam and Thuy Tien opted for a simple, unpretentious singing style. This resonated with the majority of the audience at Ba Dinh Square, as well as those watching the live broadcast. On My Tam's fan page, the video received over 11,000 interactions. User Mai Thanh commented, "The voice and image of the little girl and My Tam are wonderful," while another viewer, Thuy Loan, said, "I cried when the little one started singing, moved by the duet.".
Entrepreneur Vu Trung Hiep, who watched the performance on television, said that under normal circumstances, the child's performance might not have been entirely outstanding. However, given the context of a grand national event, Thuy Tien's composure was commendable. "My overall impression is that this is the voice of a child, the preschool generation, the future of the country."
After the performance, Thuy Tien expressed her joy at completing the task and receiving so much encouragement. My Tam said she imbued the song with national pride and patriotism. Many viewers praised the singer's powerful voice.
Ha Van Bao, 32, Thuy Tien's father, said that when he received the news that his daughter would perform at the 80th National Day celebration at Ba Dinh Square, he and his family were overjoyed but also worried about the significant task ahead for her. The program's choreographer rigorously selected young singers from numerous clubs, hoping to find a bright face with an innocent voice appropriate for her age.
Thuy Tien practiced singing for three days and met My Tam for the first time at the rehearsal on 31/8. During the dress rehearsal, the singer encouraged and guided her. Throughout the practice process, Thuy Tien's family was always there to support her.

Initially, her parents enrolled her in dance classes. When she demonstrated a talent for singing, they registered her at a center in Hanoi taught by Dr. Dinh Lan Huong. Having been exposed to the arts from a young age and having performed in several programs, Thuy Tien is confident in front of crowds. Although she showed early talent in dancing and singing, her family emphasizes her academic studies and personal development.
