Singer Ha Tran recently collaborated with Gen Z composer Do Hoang Long on his debut album, performing the song "Hay Noi" alongside singer Thuy Chi. At the album launch event on the afternoon of 7/10 in Ho Chi Minh City, Ha Tran expressed her consistent observation and acknowledgment of Gen Z artists' efforts in pursuing their musical passion. She specifically admired Do Hoang Long's compositional experience, despite his youth.
Ha Tran noted her enthusiasm for the album's semi-classical music arrangement. "I was interested when I heard about the idea for an arrangement with a semi-classical music style," the singer said. "My team and I debated how to phrase the vocal lines multiple times to complete this recording." She believes young people need opportunities to develop their courage and capabilities. Working with them, she sees her past self, who was once criticized and received many conflicting opinions but still achieved success. Over the past year, Ha Tran has been quiet in her singing activities, dedicating time to rejuvenate. She stated that collaborating with Do Hoang Long is a way for her to feel refreshed. At 44 years old, the singer no longer feels pressure in her work; however, she still gets nervous when performing on stage in major, high-production shows.
Do Hoang Long expressed his happiness working with Ha Tran and other famous singers such as Tung Duong, Dong Hung, Khanh Linh, and Nguyen Tran Trung Quan. He spent significant time listening to their music to grasp each artist's individuality. "All my compositions are based on the singers' vocal range and timbre," he said. "Therefore, when they received the demo version, they all liked it and agreed to perform." The Gen Z composer self-produced his debut album, which includes 8 songs: "Com Nha", "Vo Dieu Kien", and "Ton Tai". He poured his heart and soul into each arrangement, combining multiple genres on the CD, including pop, alternative, R&B, and electronic. To ensure optimal sound quality, he invited renowned composers such as Hoai Sa, Nguyen Hoang Duy, and Quan Nguyen to arrange the music.
Regarding the album's theme, Do Hoang Long explained that his musical inspiration comes from issues everyone faces, such as loneliness, hurt, and social prejudice. "I want my music to touch the audience's emotions most naturally, helping them feel understood and healed when listening," he said.
