40-year-old Andrew Garfield and 33-year-old Monica Barbaro were first romantically linked when the media spotted them watching a play together in London in February. A source later confirmed to People that they are dating. Although they have never publicly addressed their relationship, they have been seen together multiple times. Us Weekly reported in May that Garfield was seen waiting in The Mark Hotel in New York for Barbaro to return from a Met Gala after-party.
On 3/6, Deadline reported that the couple are in talks to star in director Luca Guadagnino's film Artificial. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight on 11/6, Barbaro didn't directly answer the question of whether she was excited to work with Garfield on the new project. She simply smiled and said, "I'm very excited to work with the whole cast, it's going to be a great time."

In Esquire in 2024, he said, "I've never and will never speak, confirm or deny information about my private life to anyone." Three years prior, he made a similar statement to Bustle, asserting that he wouldn't discuss his relationships and was "fighting to protect [his] private life."

Variety magazine named her one of the top 10 promising actors of 2024. Her latest project is A Complete Unknown (2024), co-starring Timothee Chalamet. According to Us Weekly, Barbaro keeps her love life private and has never publicly spoken about this aspect of her life.
