Cardi B throws pen at man after 'disrespectful' questioning

American rapper Cardi B threw a pen at a man who asked about rumors of her pregnancy.

According to USA Today, the incident occurred after the rapper left a courtroom in Alhambra on 2/9. In a video, an irritated Cardi B demanded the man asking the question not to be disrespectful. As the artist prepared to enter her vehicle, the man said he "still loved her even after being hit with an object."

Cardi B replied, "I don't care. You're being extremely rude. Do you see any other women being asked these types of questions? As a man, why do you feel entitled to ask me such things? Be respectful. I think your mother taught you to respect women."

Once in the car, the rapper rolled down the window to tell reporters they wouldn't see her publicly outside the courthouse again because of the man's behavior. "I'm not joking. I used to be nice, but no one can tolerate this anymore," she declared.

Cardi B was recently involved in a civil lawsuit after a security guard, Emani Ellis, accused the rapper of assault in Beverly Hills in 2018. Ellis initially filed the lawsuit in 2/2020. In the complaint, she alleged Cardi B spat on and scratched her face during an altercation outside the maternity clinic where Ellis worked. According to Ellis, the fight left her with scars and emotional trauma, and also led to her dismissal. Ellis initially sought 24 million USD in damages but later reduced the amount to 250,000 USD.

On 2/9, the judge ruled in favor of the rapper. Before the verdict, Cardi B drew attention with videos of her humorous testimony. In one clip, she stated she was pregnant with her first child at the time of the incident. "I was pregnant. Even if I wanted to, I couldn't defend myself. She was twice my size," Cardi B said in court. Her outfits and wigs worn during the trial also garnered attention.

Cardi B, 33, is one of the world's most famous rappers. She worked as an exotic dancer before her music career. Cardi is known for her provocative and unconventional fashion style. She's also had a history of controversies, including assault accusations and making shocking statements in the media.

In 2017, she married rapper Offset and they lived together in New York. The couple filed for divorce multiple times but later reconciled. Most recently, the "WAP" singer filed for divorce from Offset in late 7/2024 after seven years of marriage, but they maintained an amicable relationship. Over a month later, the couple welcomed their third child. According to Billboard, Cardi B began dating Stefon Diggs, 32, earlier this year. The couple went public with their relationship when they attended a New York Knicks basketball game together in May.
