According to the Los Angeles Times on 31/8, Gordon Ramsay had a tumor removed from his face. On social media, he shared a post-surgery photo and encouraged everyone to use sunscreen. Fans wished him a speedy recovery.
NBC reported that Ramsay has basal cell carcinoma, a type of skin cancer. This type commonly appears on sun-exposed skin like the head and neck.

The 59-year-old Ramsay is one of the world's most famous chefs, owner of several Michelin-starred restaurants, and judge on many cooking shows. Among his accolades are an Order of the British Empire in 2006 for services to the hospitality industry and being named the UK's most influential person in the hospitality industry in 2009.
Ramsay's "Gordon's Great Escape" is a popular YouTube cooking series where he travels the world learning to cook local specialties. In Vietnam, he made banh cuon (steamed rice rolls), learned how to marinate duck, and cook bun rieu broth (crab noodle soup).

In July, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce selected artists from five categories: motion pictures, television, live theatre/live performance, recording, and sports entertainment, to be honored on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year. Chef Gordon Ramsay is included in the television category for his popular shows like "MasterChef," "Hell's Kitchen," and "Kitchen Nightmares."
