Nguyen Van Trung thanked those who supported his son after the singer won the Intervision 2025 championship in Russia. He specifically mentioned singer My Tam, Duc Phuc's first mentor in the entertainment industry.

10 years ago, on The Voice of Vietnam, My Tam coached Duc Phuc to victory while he was still a student at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, launching his professional career. "It would be remiss of me not to express this heartfelt gratitude," the singer's father said.

According to Duc Phuc's family, My Tam is a person of "great heart and vision". Mr. Trung believes that the coach's decision to select his son during the blind auditions changed Duc Phuc's destiny and helped him grow into the artist he is today.

"Words cannot describe the mentorship and guidance that My Tam has given Duc Phuc; only those involved can truly understand," Mr. Trung wrote.

Duc Phuc has always held a special place in his heart for My Tam. He often addresses her as "Co" (a term of respect for an older woman) and refers to himself as "Con" (child) when speaking to his mentor. The singer said that although they don't meet often, they maintain a close relationship. "I always consider My Tam a role model for talent and professional ethics," the singer of "Anh Nang Cua Anh" said.

In addition to My Tam, Mr. Van Trung also mentioned the role of Ho Hoai Anh, the composer of the song "Phu Dong Thien Vuong" which Duc Phuc performed at Intervision. The composer also played a significant role in the singer's musical journey.

Duc Phuc's father recalled that during the northern regional auditions for The Voice of Vietnam in 2015, Duc Phuc was initially rejected by another composer. It seemed his musical dream would end, but Ho Hoai Anh selected him, opening up a new opportunity. Over the years, Ho Hoai Anh has followed Duc Phuc's development and progress. When working together, he admired the singer's dedication to perfection. "I highly appreciate Duc Phuc's creativity and meticulousness in our recent collaboration," the composer said.

The singer's family instilled in him the value of gratitude. His father often reminds Duc Phuc that success comes not only from personal sacrifices, passion, and dedication, but also from the contributions of teachers, partners, friends, and colleagues. He hopes his son will remain confident and honest to continue thriving in the future, earning even more public affection.

Family holds great significance in Duc Phuc's life. His father worked as a taxi and truck driver. From a young age, they recognized their son's love for music and supported his development by enrolling him in cultural center classes and encouraging him to participate in various competitions. Even when Duc Phuc faced setbacks in early competitions, his family didn't discourage him but allowed him to choose his own path.

His family was also a source of support during his initial struggles in the industry. When some criticized his appearance as unsuitable for a singer, his parents were heartbroken but encouraged him to ignore the negativity.

Upon achieving initial success, Duc Phuc's first thought was of his family. He saved money from his singing career to provide them with a better life. The singer remembers buying a new car for his parents, and his father stroking the paint and saying something that Duc Phuc will never forget: "For the first time in 50 years, I'm driving a brand new car like this."

Duc Phuc's parents couldn't travel to Russia to support him at Intervision 2025, but they stayed updated on all the news. They were overjoyed when they heard of his victory. Mr. Trung still calls his son by the nickname "Idol" as a way of expressing his pride.

Duc Phuc planned to return to Vietnam from Russia on the morning of 24/9, but due to a busy post-competition schedule, his return was postponed. He will arrive at Noi Bai International Airport, Hanoi, on the morning of 26/9. His fan club is planning a welcome celebration for their idol.

Nguyen Duc Phuc, 28, from Hanoi, won The Voice of Vietnam in 2015 under My Tam's mentorship. His hits include "Anh Nang Cua Anh," "Ta Con Yeu Nhau," "Con Yeu Dau Ai Roi Di," "Hon Ca Yeu," "Nguoi Oi Nguoi O Dung Ve," and "Ngay Dau Sau Chia Tay." In 2024, he gained attention as a contestant on the first season of "Older Brother," reaching the final Best Five.
