On Instagram, Harris announced the book, published by Simon & Schuster, is set to release on 23/9. The number in the title represents the days she led the race for the White House last year. According to Harris, what the world saw was only part of the story, and the book will reveal what happened behind the scenes.
"Writing '107 days' allowed me to relive the campaign, but in reverse – rewinding each moment, experiencing everything again. Behind every speech, handshake, and story I shared on the trail were deeper layers of meaning, quiet reflection, and lessons learned. This book isn't a summary of our race. It's a raw, personal account of my journey – the shortest presidential campaign in modern history," Harris wrote.

In a 31/7 announcement, Jonathan Karp, the publishing house's CEO, said: "'107 days' captures the presidential race better than any book I've read. It's one of the most outstanding political non-fiction works Simon & Schuster has ever published. This memoir serves as a historical record and an extraordinary story."
Variety reported Harris steered "an unprecedented, short-lived presidential campaign" after former candidate Joe Biden's sudden withdrawal against Donald Trump, who later won the presidency. Harris entered the race in mid-7/2024, following an assassination attempt on Trump. News of the memoir came a day after Harris announced she would not run for California governor in 2026.

Harris, 61, was born in Oakland, California, and graduated from Howard University, the University of California, and Hastings College of the Law. She served as a US senator representing California from 2017 to 2021. Harris ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020 but withdrew before the primaries. Joe Biden chose her as his running mate in 8/2020, and they won the general election in November of the same year. She was the first female US vice president and the first person of South Asian descent to hold the office.
