Khanh Huyen portrays Ly, the vice president of the board at an international school, making her appearance from the third episode. The character exudes elegance but possesses a haughty demeanor, always considering herself the center of attention. She is Hoang Lam's (Quynh Kool) boss and the person My Anh (Phuong Oanh) seeks out for assistance with her son's education. In episode 6, aired on 20/8, upon learning of My Anh's request, Ly sets a condition: she wants a television documentary produced about her life and career.
On TikTok, many viewers praised the actress for her convincing portrayal of Ly's posh and unpleasant personality. Some commended Khanh Huyen's expressive voice, effectively conveying the character's emotions.
Khanh Huyen has lived and worked in TP HCM since 2007. Recently, she has wanted to work more in Hanoi to be closer to her mother. The actress admitted to having reservations about accepting the role due to Ly's stark contrast to her real-life personality.
Returning to a VFC project after nearly 20 years, Khanh Huyen hoped to play a more likeable character. However, director Le Do Ngoc Linh encouraged her to take on the challenge. "Portraying Ly's unpleasantness was a real effort and a test for me as an actress," she said.
Knowing that Ly wouldn't be an easily loved character, Khanh Huyen mentally prepared herself for audience reactions. However, she believes the public now differentiates between the character and the actor. "In the past, actors playing unlikeable roles often faced harsh criticism in public, but I find today's audiences are more discerning," she explained.
Filming required Khanh Huyen to constantly travel between two cities. Due to the continuous shooting schedule, after completing her scenes, she often returned to TP HCM to manage her other work, then flew back to Hanoi for subsequent filming. Apart from the travel demands, she experienced no difficulties working with the crew.
