In the teaser released on the morning of 31/7, the actress plays Nguyen Thi Nhai, a young woman from the northern mountains. She becomes the concubine of Vu The Dinh (Huu Vi), the son of the Vu family. After the wedding procession, Nhai is tasked with "bearing a son to carry on the family legacy." Tragedy strikes when she is unwittingly caught in a pact with an evil spirit.
Lam Thanh My reunites with director Le Van Kiet after four years, since the film "Bong De" (Shadow). This new role presents a significant challenge for the Gen Z actress, particularly in scenes depicting Nhai's labor and delivery, an experience she has not yet had. She aims to portray the complex inner world and tragic fate of Nhai as she is targeted by various forces.
The film crew says they invested heavily in set design and costumes to recreate the feudal era. The director chose the colors and styles of traditional clothing as cinematic language, hinting at the characters' backgrounds and personalities, while also foreshadowing the underlying conflicts in the story. The script is inspired by the novel of the same name by author Thuc Linh, with appearances by artists Trung Anh, Minh Chau, and Lanh Thanh.

Lam Thanh My rose to fame after starring in "Doat Hon" (Hollow), directed by Ham Tran in 2014. The same year, she was cast by Victor Vu in "Scandal 2 - Hao Quang Tro Lai" (Scandal 2 - The Comeback). In 2015, Victor Vu's adaptation of Nguyen Nhat Anh's novel, "Toi Thay Hoa Vang Tren Co Xanh" (Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass), propelled her to child star status in Vietnamese cinema. Following the film's success, she acted in "Sieu Trom" (The Thief) (2016), "Da Co Hoai Lang" (Nostalgia for the Past) (2017), and "Tinh Dau Tho Ngay" (Innocent First Love) (2019). Last year, the film "Cam" (The Trap), in which she played the lead role, surpassed 100 billion VND.
Le Van Kiet graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (USA) with a degree in Film and Television. The film was also screened in the USA, China, and on Netflix under the title "Furie."
"Khe Uoc Ban Dau" will compete with a series of films in September, including "Lam Giau Voi Ma 2" (Getting Rich With Ghosts 2), directed by Hoai Linh Tuan Tran, and "Tu Chien Tren Khong" (Sky Battle), the first Vietnamese film about air piracy. After that, several other Vietnamese films will be released simultaneously, such as "Cuc Vang Cua Ngoai" (Grandma's Gold Bar), "Heo Nam Mong" (Five-Toed Pig), and "Hoang Tu Quy" (Demon Prince).
