Watabe's primary responsibilities include taking out the trash, driving the children, and playing with them. During a television show on 3/7, Sasaki was asked what she would say to her husband. Her response: "We have two children. Let's be a team and raise them together."
The couple has been married for eight years. Watabe is 53, and Sasaki is 37. In 2020, their marriage became a topic of widespread interest across Asia when Watabe's infidelity with over 10 women came to light.

Sasaki described their earlier family life as harmonious, noting that they rarely argued due to Watabe's tolerant and accommodating nature. She was shocked and devastated by the revelation of his infidelity.
Following the scandal, Sasaki felt her husband became a shadow of his former self. With their son only 18 months old at the time, she strived to maintain a semblance of normalcy for their child, masking the emotional turmoil. Both pretended nothing had happened, but Sasaki admits it was a strained existence. Only after their children were asleep would they have serious conversations.
However, Watabe's only response to Sasaki's questions was, "I'm sorry." While some friends advised divorce, Sasaki's mother urged caution, saying, "The choice is yours, but your children are so young. Consider carefully."
Though she contemplated separation, Sasaki ultimately heeded her mother's advice. While acknowledging that Watabe wasn't a good husband, she believed he was a good father who loved his children. She chose to stay in the marriage to allow Watabe to remain involved in their lives, fearing her children might resent him if they divorced.

Despite this, Sasaki hasn't fully forgiven her husband. Forgetting would bring peace, she admits, but the scandal remains a lingering wound. While she has given Watabe another chance, she continues to observe and hasn't ruled out the possibility of separation.
On the same program, actress Yoshino Kimura, a close friend of Sasaki, revealed the actress's significant weight loss due to the stress of the scandal. Kimura praised Sasaki's resilience, saying, "She's incredibly strong, facing this alone and standing back up. If it were me, I would have crumbled. I admire her."
Since the scandal, Sasaki has continued her career as a model and actress, appearing in films and television series like *Red Shoes*, *Shinji Muroi: Not Defeated*, *A Girl & Her Guard Dog*, and *I Will Not Let You Marry My Daughter*. Her beauty and bright smile have earned her a devoted fan base across Asia, and she consistently ranks among the top 100 most beautiful faces in the world according to TC Candler.
Watabe faced a two-year period of unemployment and public backlash, working at a market. He returned to hosting in 2022. At the time, Sasaki publicly urged support for her husband, asking the public to give him a second chance.
