Midu explained that the film's title, "1314 - Waiting for you on the old day", draws inspiration from two key dates in her and her husband's relationship. Minh Dat confessed his feelings on 1/4, and Midu accepted his proposal on 13/4. The combined dates symbolize destiny, a message she hopes to convey in the film.
"Combining the dates of these two events felt like destiny, and that's the message I want to convey in the film," she said.
The male lead, named Minh after her husband Tran Duy Minh Dat, is played by model Hoang Long, a rising star from The Next Gentleman. Midu, whose real name is Dang Thi My Dung, plays the female lead, My. The film is directed by Nguyen Khac Tuan, known for his work on "The Most Beautiful Summer".
"1314" is a time-travel romance film. Midu describes it as nostalgic, transporting viewers back to the 2010-2011 period and recreating the school atmosphere of the 1980s and 1990s generations.
"Watching a video about my school days brought back so many emotions. I wanted to relive those moments through film," she shared.
After nearly 20 years in the entertainment industry, this is Midu's first foray into film production. The eight-month project has been both exciting and challenging. She was involved in almost every aspect, from script development and crew selection to casting.
"It wasn't easy," Midu admitted. "But after adapting and overcoming obstacles, I learned a lot. I want to focus more on this new role, building a foundation for larger projects in the future."

The film features a young cast including Tran Phong, Vuong Anh Ole, Trinh Thao, Tran Anh Huy, Kieu Trinh Xiu, Tiko Tien Cong, and Him Pham.
Midu, 35, from Ho Chi Minh City, is known for her roles in films like "White-robed Angel", "Thien Menh Anh Hung", "4 Years, 2 Guys, 1 Love", "Predestined Love", and "Mother-in-law". Besides acting, she is also a lecturer and entrepreneur.
Minh Dat, a year younger than Midu, comes from a prominent family in the plastics industry. After earning his master's degree in the US, he returned to Vietnam to work for the family business. The couple held a star-studded wedding in June 2024. In recent months, Midu has spoken positively about married life and her return to work. Minh Dat occasionally accompanies her to showbiz events.
