Beauty queens Tieu Vy, Bao Ngoc, and Luong Thuy Linh joined the cast of the film "Mua do" – Do Nhat Hoang, Lam Thanh Nha, Phuong Nam, Dinh Khang, Steven Nguyen, Hoang Long, and Tran Gia Huy – on Quan Thanh Street during the cultural and sports segment of the National Day parade.
Together, they sang "Con gi dep hon" ("What could be more beautiful"), composed by Nguyen Hung. The song, while not part of the film's official soundtrack, was chosen by the "Mua do" team to further promote the project, alongside the main theme song "Noi dau giua hoa binh" ("Pain amidst Peace"), composed by Nguyen Van Chung and performed by Hoa Minzy.
In the film, Nguyen Hung plays Hai, a young man who puts his dreams aside to defend his country. The 26-year-old actor and singer from Gia Lai province is also a member of the band Maydays and the composer of the hit song "Phep mau" ("Magic").
He wrote "Con gi dep hon" while studying the film's script and completed it after filming wrapped. "I'm happy that the song has resonated with so many young people," he said.
Released in July before the film's premiere, the song gained traction even though it wasn't featured in the movie. The chorus became popular on TikTok, used as background music in tens of thousands of patriotic videos, garnering millions of views. The music video, incorporating scenes and images from the film, has over 14 million views on YouTube.
Miss Vietnam Tieu Vy was moved as she sang the lyrics: "In the lantern night after the victorious day. How many names lie here. The war is over, but my son has not yet returned. Mother, be happy, you have a heroic son. He gave his youth to bring freedom to the country. For me, that's all, what could be more beautiful!"
Luong Thuy Linh described the song as a beautiful complement to the film. "The film not only retells history but also makes viewers feel the patriotic spirit and sacrifice of the soldiers. For me, 'Mua do' is a reminder to cherish peace and independence," she said.
As of 2/9, "Mua do" surpassed 400 billion VND in revenue after 12 days in theaters, becoming the first revolutionary war film to achieve this box office record.
