They will share the stage for the first time at the opening of Hue Festival on 14/6, an event celebrating the culture and heritage of the former imperial capital. As part of a practical experience, My Anh will act as a tour guide, leading Matthew Ifield to explore famous architectural sites, tombs, alleys, and experience local life.
"I look forward to introducing the traditional values and simple beauty of Vietnam and its people to international friends", My Anh said. Matthew Ifield mentioned he has been researching Hue through media reports and is eager for his visit.
The two Gen Z artists will co-write music during a songwriting session in Hanoi on 16/6. On the final day, they will join a seminar with 150 young music professionals, discussing the music industry's operations in both countries.
My Anh, 24, is the youngest child of singer My Linh and musician Anh Quan. She developed a passion for singing early on, launching her independent career in 2020. A singer-songwriter, she produces her own music videos and was the runner-up in The Heroes music competition. In November 2021, My Anh performed at the Head in the Clouds music festival in Los Angeles, US. Early 2022 saw My Anh honored with the Outstanding New Face award at the Lan Song Xanh Awards.
She previously released the children's album "Bai hat cho Bi" in 2016, alongside singles like "Got You", "Loi cam on", "Nhin nhung mua thu di", "Moi khi anh nhin em", and "Chang the ne tranh". Her debut album, "Em", released in early 2024, garnered positive reviews from audiences and critics. In 2025, she performed at international events such as Vivid Sydney (Australia), Offshore Music x Sari Sari Night (Philippines), Jam Jam Asia (Taiwan), and Expo 2025 Osaka (Japan).
Matthew Ifield, 21, is an Australian singer-songwriter who rose to prominence in 2020 with acoustic cover videos that garnered significant views across digital platforms. He boasts nearly 800,000 Instagram followers and millions of Spotify streams. After the success of his debut album "My Favourite Place To Be" and a sold-out India tour, Matthew Ifield is now setting his sights on Southeast Asian audiences. He also secured contracts with EMI Music (Australia), Capitol Records (US), and Fontana Records (UK) as part of his global expansion strategy.
All Ears: Focus Australia, an initiative launched by the Australian government in 2024, aims to foster dialogue through seminars and music performances. The program provides young Vietnamese artists and singers with direct interaction opportunities with leading Australian music industry producers, artists, and experts.
