On 27/5, V-Film unveiled its strategy to produce historical films, aiming to introduce Vietnamese cultural values to a global audience.
The inaugural project under this strategy is a series on the Tran dynasty. The work draws inspiration from the glorious Dong A spirit, marked by three victorious resistance wars against the Yuan - Mongol invaders. The script will not only portray epic battles but also explore dramatic power transitions and pivotal decisions that shaped the nation's destiny.
V-Film has completed the script for the first season, comprising 10 episodes. The project is currently in the casting phase and is expected to begin filming in July. The first season of the Tran dynasty series is scheduled to premiere to audiences in December this year.

V-Film operates as a cultural pillar of Vingroup. The company aims to establish a cinematic ecosystem, effectively connecting creative resources both domestically and internationally.
The unit will invest comprehensively across the entire film value chain, from script development, production, and post-production to distribution. The company is supported by an advisory board comprising leading Vietnamese historical researchers, cultural experts, and academic consultants. "The involvement of these experts ensures the accuracy of historical timelines and cultural depth, affirming our commitment to promoting the nation's image," a V-Film representative stated.
V-Film reports that it brings together producers with international cinematic experience and young Vietnamese directors with creative energy. The company also intends to collaborate extensively with international partners to enhance the technical and artistic quality of its productions.
Regarding implementation, V-Film projects will adopt a multi-season film model and build a multi-platform content ecosystem. The company's focus is on large-scale historical feature films with scripts that tightly integrate dramatic elements, character psychology, and innovative cinematic creativity. This approach ensures the films maintain national identity while being compelling enough to appeal to the international market.
Tran Duc Viet, General Director of V-Film, observed that the world primarily knows Vietnam through its natural beauty and cuisine, but lacks a deep understanding of its history and the Vietnamese spirit. He hopes V-Film will create a cinematic ecosystem where national stories are told using the most modern language, helping to transform culture into national soft power.
