For the action star, pregnancy at 46 has been transformative. She feels less demanding and has learned to slow down, appreciating small things and enjoying a simpler life. The couple chose the nickname "Gao" (Rice) for their child, wanting something endearing and evocative of a small but precious gift.
With no immediate plans to return to filmmaking, Ngo Thanh Van intends to dedicate herself to her family. She's been preparing for motherhood by reading books, watching videos, and consulting doctors and specialists. She wants to be fully prepared for the journey of raising a child.
The actress envisions herself as a "cool" and supportive mother, encouraging her child's explorations. She doesn't want to dictate their career path, preferring that Gao has the freedom to grow and discover the world in their own way. "We will always be there to support our child every step of the way," she said.

He's attentive to her every action and even the smallest changes, always ready to offer support. When she experienced health complications and a risk of gestational diabetes, he created special meal plans, avoiding allergens while ensuring nutritious and tasty food. "He's always reminding me and preparing everything so I can stay healthy throughout the pregnancy," she shared.
The "Furie" director faced pressure after two unsuccessful rounds of IVF. Each time, she felt disappointed. "By the last attempt, the anticipation wasn't as intense, and everything happened naturally," she said.
The couple received the good news around Christmas 2024. Hearing their baby's heartbeat for the first time, Ngo Thanh Van embraced Huy Tran and cried, overjoyed after three years of trying. "It was an incomparable feeling. As a man, he doesn't express emotion much, but I could see the happiness and peace in his eyes," she recalled.
