Nhat Cuong's only son, Nhat Thinh, graduated from university in mid-August of this year. To celebrate, he plans to take his family on a trip across the US and Europe. "I'm content with my life now that my children are grown, I'm in good health, and I have regular performances. I still perform at smaller shows and events to connect directly with the audience," Nhat Cuong said.
Although raised in the US, Nhat Thinh speaks Vietnamese fluently. Nhat Cuong always ensures his son visits his grandparents in Vietnam during holidays and summer breaks, emphasizing the importance of their heritage. Both parents consider Nhat Thinh a friend, fostering open communication about all aspects of life, including personal challenges. During a recent family trip to Europe, Nhat Thinh brought his girlfriend along.

In 2003, Nhat Cuong's wife immigrated to the US through family sponsorship, while he remained in Vietnam to pursue his acting career. After years of living apart due to work, Nhat Cuong has been spending more time with his family in the US in recent years. He considers himself fortunate to have a supportive wife who understood their long-distance situation, diligently cared for their son, and wholeheartedly supported his career.
"My wife has never complained about my decisions. Mutual trust and respect are the cornerstones of our marriage," he shared.
To adapt to life abroad and maintain his passion for acting, Nhat Cuong creates online films and manages his own YouTube channel. He emphasizes that his focus isn't on monetary gains, but on sharing everyday life and preserving memories. In July, he posted a video of a family trip to see cherry blossoms in Washington, D.C.

For the past 10 years, he's been absent from the Vietnamese stage, focusing on his family in the US, working to pay off the house and car, and supporting his son's education. Now that things have stabilized, he has the time and resources to reinvest in his acting career. "In two years, after my son finishes his master's degree, I'll return to Vietnam to make films and perform in plays. I miss my profession and the audience back home," Nhat Cuong stated.
The actor previously shared, "I live a comfortable life, without financial worries thanks to my savings and prudent spending. During my peak, I invested in some land."
Originally from Nha Trang, Nhat Cuong graduated from the College of Theatre and Cinema in 1988. In his 30-year career, he has created memorable comedies such as Ra gieng anh cuoi em, Vi sao toi dien, Ken re, Xich lo, and Hac Bach cong tu. He has also produced four live shows titled Cuoi de nho.
