According to St Headline, Duan Wei Lun passed away on the morning of 27/8 after a period of hospitalization. Actor Lu Hue Quang, a close friend of Duan, said he had been battling illness for many years and had previously suffered a stroke. Lu is currently arranging the funeral with Duan’s family.

Action star Chin Siu Ho shared that Duan’s health had been declining in recent years. He remembers Duan as a kind and thoughtful person. Chin expressed his grief, saying, "Every year, a few friends leave us.".
Born in 1958, Duan entered the film industry in 1970, often playing supporting roles in Jackie Chan films such as “Police Story 3” and “Police Story 4”. He also worked with television stations ATV and TVB, continuing to take on supporting characters. His other notable films include “Fight Back to School”, “The Conmen 1999”, “Interpol”, “Organized Crime and Triad Bureau”, and “Tactical Unit”.

Within the Hong Kong entertainment industry, Duan was also well-known as Jackie Chan's assistant from the late 1980s to 2003. Along with Lu Hue Quang, Duan was constantly by Chan’s side. According to HK01, in 1989, Duan saved Chan's life after the actor fell into a coma due to alcohol intoxication.
After leaving the Jackie Chan Stunt Team, Duan pursued business ventures in car sales and film production. He remained out of the public eye in his later years.
