On 18/9, Princess Kate Middleton, 43, and Melania Trump, 55, had their first joint outing during the state visit of President Donald Trump and his wife to the UK. They visited 4- to 6-year-old Squirrel Scouts at Frogmore Gardens, south of Windsor Castle.
Both embraced the suede trend, a popular autumn/winter fashion choice. Trump wore a brown military-style jacket with gray khaki pants. The princess of Wales opted for a green blazer and a sweater from the British brand ME+EM, a brown Ralph Lauren midi skirt, and boots. The highlight of her outfit was a silk scarf from Sudbury Mill in Suffolk, one of two silk mills she visited the previous week.
According to People, the princess's choice of scarf was a gesture of support for the British textile industry in front of the former US first lady. Princess Kate has a passion for this industry. Her paternal family includes several members who owned and operated the wool manufacturer and business William Lupton & Co.

On 11/9, she visited Sudbury Mill to tour the family-run weaving workshop. It is a leading jacquard silk weaving mill and has played a vital role in the British textile industry for over 300 years. She observed the workshop's processes and met with team members.
This outing was significant as it was the first time Princess Kate Middleton and Trump participated in an event together. Both consider working with children fundamental to their public roles.
The princess of Wales, president of the Scout Association, prepared lunch, including sandwiches with honey harvested from the beehives at Anmer Hall, her country home.
"The princess of Wales was truly wonderful. She was very approachable, enjoyed chatting with the children, and listened to them. She also often mentioned her own children. She believes that sharing stories about her children with other kids is a great way to connect," Fields, who accompanied the visit, told People.
President Donald Trump and his wife visited the UK from 17/9 to 19/9. A key outcome of the visit was a bilateral cooperation agreement with a total private investment value of 42 billion USD. This agreement covered key areas such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and civil nuclear energy.
