The logo of Saigon Xanh.
Initiated by Nguyen Luong Ngoc in 2018, Saigon Xanh aims to transform polluted canals into symbols of green living and sustainable action. Twice a week, rain or shine, the group of young people gathers at polluted canals to clean and restore freshness to the city. After nearly 5 years, the project has organized over 300 cleaning campaigns, attracting more than 20,000 volunteers and collecting over 3,000 tons of waste, contributing to improving the urban environment.
In 2023, Saigon Xanh represented Vietnam in World Cleanup Day, reaching the second position globally with over 3 billion views on international platforms. This achievement is a source of pride for the founding team and affirms the strength and responsibility of Vietnamese youth in addressing environmental challenges.
Many communities in Tien Giang, Vung Tau, and Binh Duong are replicating the model. Even Southeast Asian countries like the Philippines and Indonesia are looking to collaborate with Saigon Xanh.
