According to People, the wedding took place at Hackney Town Hall on 19/7. The couple kept the ceremony intimate, inviting only around 20 close friends and family, including XCX's parents and members of The 1975 (excluding Matty Healy). The groom wore a simple suit while the bride opted for an off-the-shoulder mini-dress by Vivienne Westwood, occasionally sporting sunglasses.

While the exact start date of their relationship remains undisclosed, XCX, 33, and Daniel, 35, first collaborated in 2021 on the single "Spinning" with The 1975 and singer No Rome. XCX confirmed their relationship on Instagram in May 2022, two months after Daniel supported her performance on Saturday Night Live. In November 2023, she announced their engagement on Instagram with a photo of the couple and a tea tray holding the engagement ring.
On the "Spout" podcast a few weeks later, XCX revealed Daniel's support during the creation of "Brat". She also credited The 1975 with inspiring her to slow down her songwriting process, allowing more time to refine her work. Previously, she had favored a faster, more instinctive approach. This changed after observing The 1975's methods.
"Now, I've adapted to sitting down, writing, editing, performing for friends, exchanging feedback, and living with the songs a little longer. That's how my songwriting process has matured," she explained.
