Soobin mentors aspiring K-pop group

Soobin is mentoring 11 young talents on the show "Tan Binh Toan Nang" to create a K-pop style group.

At a contestant introduction in Ho Chi Minh City on 22/9, the show's producers announced the young talents will collaborate and compete with several music groups from South Korea, Thailand, Japan, and Taiwan through five performances. This experience will help them gain performance experience and stage presence before their final debut.

Soobin and his music associates are guiding the young contestants. The singer is using his 10 years of experience to mentor the "rookies." "This is a challenge, a new chapter in my journey," he said.

The singer shared that he had to learn about the personalities, vocals, and dance skills of all 11 contestants. He recognized their hard work and talent, expressing excitement for this potential new generation.

"Tan Binh Toan Nang" premieres on 4/10. This reality show aims to create a new Vietnamese boy band idol group. The contestants are trained and challenged in the K-pop model, from singing and dancing to performance style and personal image development. Dinh Ha Uyen Thu is the general director, SlimV is the music director, and Vi Khang is the show's art director.

Soobin, whose real name is Nguyen Huynh Son, is a 33-year-old singer, songwriter, and rapper from Hanoi with roots in the underground music scene. He has released several hit songs like "Phia Sau Mot Co Gai" and "Di De Tro Ve" (Tien Cookie). In 2020, he adopted the stage name Soobin and released the EP "The Playah" with self-composed tracks that garnered tens of millions of views. In 2024, he gained attention participating in "Anh Trai Vuot Ngan Chong Gai" as one of the 17 members of the "Gia Toc Toan Nang" group. In May of this year, he held a concert titled "All-rounder," attracting thousands of attendees.
