People magazine quoted designer George Khalife, who estimated the diamond could weigh up to 20 carats and be worth between 3.5 and 5 million USD. "Old mine diamonds are very rare and hard to find. That means the stone was naturally formed and entirely hand-cut using techniques rarely seen today," he said.

Rings designed by Lubeck are currently available on the Artifex Fine website, ranging in price from 4,300 USD for a Big Dipper design to 38,000 USD for a 5.02-carat diamond ring.

Expert Benjamin Khordipour at Estate Diamond Jewelry described Taylor's diamond as having a classic 18th and 19th-century look. He told Brides: "The design of the 18k gold ring is reminiscent of the Victorian era, with intricate and beautiful gold details, an F color, and VS1 clarity, estimated at 550,000 USD."
