Released on 22/8, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Vietnam's reunification (30/4/1975-30/4/2025), the film Mua do (Red Rain) depicts the 81 harrowing days and nights at the Quang Tri Citadel. Concurrently, the song "Nothing More Beautiful," performed by Nguyen Hung, quickly gained attention despite not being featured in the film.
Before the film's premiere, the song went viral on TikTok. Tens of thousands of users chose the chorus, "The resistance will end if I don't return/Mother, be happy, you have a heroic son," as the soundtrack for their patriotic videos. By 14/9, approximately 270,000 videos used the song to express love for their country and national pride during the National Day celebrations on 2/9.
With its gentle, lyrical melody and evocative lyrics, the song portrays the memories of war, the anticipation of peace, and the yearning for it.
