The contestants filmed episode 5 in Hanoi, joining the city's residents in the lead-up to National Day on 2/9. Producer and director Trang Le (center) guided the top 10 in a challenge to create short videos with messages of national pride.
Wearing ao dai, the contestants visited several historical landmarks and scenic spots in the capital, such as the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Hoan Kiem Lake, and the Hanoi Flag Tower.

The organizers divided the contestants into groups and tasked them with creating inspiring short videos for social media platforms. According to the producers, the 9th season demands more from the contestants in all aspects. Beyond their professional skills, the models must demonstrate the maturity of the new generation of Top Models. |

The show returns after an eight-year hiatus. From thousands of applications, after three days of casting in June, the judges selected the top 15 to enter the shared house. They will participate in challenges to determine the winner, who will receive a 300 million VND prize. The winner will also have the opportunity to walk the runway at international fashion weeks in the UK, France, and Italy, and appear on the cover of a prestigious fashion magazine.
Vietnam's Next Top Model is adapted from America's Next Top Model, created by supermodel Tyra Banks, which first aired in 2010. Over eight seasons, the show has discovered many famous faces in the fashion industry, such as Trang Khieu, Tuyet Lan, Hoang Thuy, Ngoc Chau, Mau Thuy, H’Hen Nie, Huong Ly, Nguyen Hop, Nguyen Oanh, and Kim Dung. After the "all-star" season (featuring notable contestants from previous years) in 2017, the show went on hiatus and has recently been revived.
