On the September 3rd episode of the New Heights podcast, Travis Kelce spoke publicly for the first time about his engagement to Taylor Swift. He thanked everyone who had reached out, sent well wishes, and celebrated with the couple. "I'm truly happy to share this news with everyone about the person I'll be spending the rest of my life with," he said.
Kelce revealed he first introduced Swift as his "fiancee" to some of his teammates during a recent football game. Media outlets speculate this refers to their most recent public appearance at Arrowhead Stadium on 28/8. He described the feeling of using the new term for his partner as exhilarating.
On the same podcast, Kelce recounted his proposal plan, revealing that it unfolded quite differently from what he had imagined. He had initially envisioned proposing "on the water," not in a flower-filled garden.
When asked for advice on proposals, the 36-year-old athlete emphasized the importance of understanding one's partner to tailor the proposal accordingly, rather than trying to replicate someone else's approach. "Just know your person, know who you're doing it for, and do it for the right reasons. And then everything else kind of falls into place," he advised.

Regarding the wedding, Kelce hinted that the planning process would be "hectic" but didn't disclose any further details. He also confirmed he hasn't yet thought about bachelor party plans.
According to sources from People, the couple hasn't started wedding preparations, as they are still enjoying their post-engagement period. However, Page Six reports that Swift and Kelce are planning a summer 2026 wedding in Rhode Island. The guest list is expected to be limited to close family and friends.
