In an interview with UDN on 7/7, 49-year-old Hsiao Shu-shen revealed details about the struggles in her marriage with 34-year-old Liang Xuan An. Xuan An had betrayed his wife, having affairs with two other women. The actress turned a blind eye to this because she had witnessed her father's infidelity during her childhood, and her mother had chosen to stay with him.

Despite living together, Hsiao Shu-shen hasn't been intimate with her husband for the past 4 years. During arguments, she suggested an amicable divorce, but Liang Xuan An refused. The actress describes her husband as immature and impulsive.
However, Liang Xuan An has also shown touching moments. For instance, when the actress was ill, her husband was always attentive and gentle. In 2020, when Shu-shen was diagnosed with duodenal cancer, Xuan An stayed by her side at the hospital, caring for her meticulously. The actress said, "At that time, the nurses all told me I was fortunate to have a husband like him".

Hsiao Shu-shen has prepared her will, leaving two-thirds of her real estate to her mother and one-third to her father. Liang Xuan An is not included in the inheritance. Shu-shen says her husband is aware of this but doesn't blame her. The couple doesn't face financial pressure due to Shu-shen's savings and rental income. They currently co-own a beauty business.
The actress registered her marriage with Xuan An in November 2017 after discovering she was pregnant. However, she miscarried in the 4th month of her pregnancy. Following this, Shu-shen experienced 4 more miscarriages, leaving her desire to become a mother unfulfilled.
Liang Xuan An was previously married and has children with his ex-wife. His parents strongly opposed his marriage to Shu-shen due to her past imprisonment and age difference. At the time, Liang Xuan An had to stay at Hsiao Shu-shen's house, unable to return home even for New Year's Eve. After 5 years, his parents gradually changed their perception of their daughter-in-law and accepted her.

The actress entered the entertainment industry at the age of 23 and is well-regarded for her acting skills in films like "Sword Stained with Royal Blood", "Yan Yu Jiang Nan", and "Intrigue and Love". Hsiao Shu-shen's career declined due to drug addiction. In May 2011, the actress was sentenced to one year and seven months in prison for drug relapse. Due to good behavior, she was released in July 2012.
