According to the Independent, a video of "Will Smith fans cheering at a summer concert" gained attention after the actor posted it on his social media and YouTube on 12/8. He captioned the posts: "Seeing you all this close is my favorite part of touring. Thank you for coming out to see me". Smith is currently on his "Based on a True Story" tour to promote the album of the same name.
The videos have garnered hundreds of thousands to 4 million views. On YouTube, many expressed frustration, believing the actor used AI to create a "fake crowd." They pointed out unusual details, such as distorted faces and audience members with six fingers in some shots.

Some commented: "Imagine being rich and famous but using AI to generate cheering fans. This is pathetic", "There are still working cameramen; why skip quality footage for this?".
Smith's representatives have not yet responded to the issue. His most recent performance was in Cardiff (the capital of Wales) on 25/8. He is scheduled to perform next in Manchester, England, on 27/8.

International news outlets report that AI is a controversial topic in the music technology industry. Many artists are advocating for their rights against AI interference, while others are criticized for misusing it. Earlier this month, British rocker Rod Stewart was accused of "disrespecting" the late rock legend Ozzy Osbourne by using AI to create a tribute video for the Black Sabbath frontman.
Smith, 57, is a famous American actor. According to Forbes, he is one of the most successful film stars, with over 20 films grossing over USD 100 million. He is also known as a rapper and has won four Grammy Awards.
On 28/3, the artist released the album "Based on a True Story" after a 20-year hiatus from music, garnering attention with the track "Int. Barbershop - Day," which references the Chris Rock slapping incident. Critics did not praise the project, deeming the lyrics self-congratulatory, cliche, and unconvincing. The album did not make it onto any major charts.
