Born in 1998 in Yen Bai, Hanbin developed a passion for the arts at a young age. In 2018, Hanbin won the Vietnam Kpop random dance in public competition.

In June 2020, he generated buzz as one of 20 contestants on the reality TV show I-Land, organized by Hybe and Mnet. He finished in the top 10, narrowly missing the opportunity to join the group Enhypen. Afterward, he left Hybe, the management company of BTS, and joined Yuehua Entertainment. He debuted with the six members of Tempest in January 2022.

In December 2023, Hanbin and Tempest made their first trip to Ho Chi Minh City to participate in the HOZO International Music Festival, an event that attracted thousands of attendees. Wearing a traditional conical hat, he interacted with fans and shared that he took the group to enjoy various local dishes like bun cha, pho, and banh xeo before the show.
