Born in 1998 in Yen Bai, Hanbin developed a passion for the arts at a young age. In 2016, while studying at the University of Commerce, he and his classmates formed the dance group C.A.C, covering K-pop idols' choreography and performing on Hanoi's walking street. In 2018, Hanbin won the Vietnam Kpop random dance in public competition.
In June 2020, he generated buzz as one of 20 contestants on the reality TV show I-Land, organized by Hybe and Mnet. He finished in the top 10, narrowly missing the opportunity to join the group Enhypen. Afterward, he left Hybe, the management company of BTS, and joined Yuehua Entertainment. He debuted with the six members of Tempest in January 2022.

Hanbin (bottom left) and Tempest have earned several accolades, including the Icon Award (2023 Asian Artist Awards), Best Male Group (2024 Korea First Brand Awards), and a Best Male Artist nomination (2022 MAMA). Besides South Korea, they have performed on major stages in Japan and China.

During his three years in South Korea, Hanbin has frequently showcased Vietnam's scenic beauty and cuisine. He posted a photo by Hoan Kiem Lake during a trip home in 2023. While livestreaming with the group, he introduced various Vietnamese dishes like dried chicken, mixed rice paper, and coconut candy. He also occasionally sings in Vietnamese for his fans.

In December 2023, Hanbin and Tempest made their first trip to Ho Chi Minh City to participate in the HOZO International Music Festival, an event that attracted thousands of attendees. Wearing a traditional conical hat, he interacted with fans and shared that he took the group to enjoy various local dishes like bun cha, pho, and banh xeo before the show.

On 5/6/2024, Hanbin and five Tempest members held their first concert in Ho Chi Minh City two years after their debut, attracting nearly 4,000 fans to Phu Tho Indoor Stadium (District 10). Hanbin led the group's interactions with a confident and approachable style.
He taught the members Vietnamese phrases during the concert and helped them practice singing "Chiec Khan Gio Am" (composed by Nguyen Van Chung), a surprise performance for their fans. Group leader Lew explained that they chose Ho Chi Minh City to kick off their global tour as a tribute to the fans in Hanbin's hometown.
